TRAKAI CASTLE BY BOAT

Trakai Castle boat trip on a private sailing yacht

See Trakai Island Castle from the water with a local skipper

The best view of Trakai Island Castle is from the water. On a private boat trip on the sailing yacht “Žaltys” you sail right around the castle island on Lake Galvė, with captain Vadimas Grigonis at the helm. Only your group is on board, up to 8 guests.

The route

We start near the castle and sail around Trakai Island Castle so you can see it from every side. Then we sail between the islands of Lake Galvė. On longer trips you also see the white palace of Užutrakis Manor from the water. The exact route depends on the wind.

How long and how much

  • 1 hour: a loop around the castle and the nearest islands. A good choice for a first trip.
  • 2 hours or longer: more islands, Užutrakis Manor and sunset trips.
  • Price: from 59 € per hour for the whole yacht, not per person. The skipper and life jackets are included.

Good to know

  • No sailing experience is needed. The skipper sails the yacht.
  • Children are welcome when accompanied by adults. Life jackets are on board.
  • You can bring your own snacks and drinks.
  • Wear soft-soled shoes and bring a warm layer: it is cooler on the water.
  • For larger groups we can arrange several yachts.

Where we depart

We sail from four piers in Trakai: Pilies sala (the main pier, next to Trakai Island Castle), Karaimų g. 57, the pier on Lake Galvė, and the Vilnius Yacht Club. We agree on the most convenient one when you book. Trakai is about 30 minutes from Vilnius by car or train. See all piers on a map on the contacts page.
